Can a previous generation 5712/1a be fitted with the new deployant clasp (2-button retracting/locking mechanism & expandable bracelet links)
May 06, 2024,07:18 AM
Greetings! My 2018 Patek 5712/1A has the previous generation clasp which is sometimes challenging for me to open - and has proven impossible for my wife to open. Has anyone asked their AD if they could upgrade to the new locking mechanism on their previous generation Nautilus bracelet? Not sure if that entails replacing the entire integrated bracelet - which I do not want to do.
I don't care as much about the expandable links but not sure if you must get both locking mechanism AND the expandible links together.
Best,
Robert

My previous gen closure is thin, secure and comfortable for sure. My 5712/1A has a tight deployant buckle - requiring a good amount of pressure at the correct angle to release the first half of the buckle and then I can wriggle it into a position to apply...
Probably

it could, but PP wouldn't do this. At least that's what I was told when I asked my AD last year. You might just check with your AD.
